I made your favorite. Spaghetti. With lots of oregano.

Okie dokie. I think it MIGHT be time for the heavy rains in North Texas to stop. Not because most of my backyard is just under water, mind you, but because we just can't handle it. I'm mostly talking about driving. We can only drive on flat dry roads and even that is usually a lot to ask. My usual 25 minute ride was an hour and I passed three accidents on my little stretch of highway. Getting out at the grocery store I heard even more sirens blaring down the highway. I hear some now as a matter of fact. Jesus. Time to stay inside.

Had a very nice weekend, D and I went to see Paula Poundstone Saturday night. It was also (embarrassingly) the first time I'd been to Bass Performance Hall. The outside of that building is really cool but I thought the inside decor left something to be desired, especially considering the cloud-themed ceiling. Seriously, guys, clouds on the ceiling? Was there even a vote?

(I'll spare you the ceiling).

The show, however, was great. I wish the auditorium had been a little fuller, but it was still pretty full. We were up in the balcony, which made it a little tricky sometimes to hear the audience banter (as she randomly starts talking to different people). It didn't quite have the energy as the last time I saw her but it was a very funny show nonetheless.

On a completely random note I was excited to see, as I occasionally peek at the retired Nate and Di, that they've marked July 13 as an upcoming date to watch. I assume this means there's going to be a show, but it's unclear if they're going to start podcasting again. That would be very nice. Thinking about it got me in the mood for a show so on the way to work I re-visited the smoke-off challenge episode in which they smoke an entire joint in a stranger's car, followed by the episode in which their parakeet becomes ensnared inside the recliner and they are forced to resort to drastic measures. The parakeet was fine but I'm going to hell for laughing.

The cryptic Nate and Di messages are quite exciting, and the parakeet story was hilarious, thanks for the visual aid to jog my memory.

I used to love Paula. Glad she's till around. How was she?

Paula was on Bill Maher's Real Time not too long ago. He made a crack about her clown suit get-up which I thought was a little too easy and mean spirited of him. I didn't even know she still around and performing.

I love Paula but haven't seen her perform for years now. I seriously thought she was in semi-retirement or something.

Mob: I'm trying not to get my hopes up. That bird story was almost too painful to listen to...

CherryR: She was great. 98% new stuff, only a dibble here and there into the classics. It's too hard to pass up the chance to see her.

MacG: Maher has such great wit but sometimes lame shit really comes out of his mouth! I didn't know she was, either, we found out by accident!

Blanco: Aw, Rigby the bird loved the excitement, I'm sure! And we'll be staying INSIDE!

Skyler'sD: I wasn't sure myself. After that horrible scandal I think it just took a little time.
