I just can't live in this detergent commercial anymore.

Aw! I was sad to read about Sarah McLachlan's divorce. Ashwin Sood was her drummer since 1991 or so and they got married in 1997. Damn. But then, as my dad and I agreed, if Ken and Emma couldn't make it work...

Anyhoo, she's releasing two new songs (and hey, they both seem to be about divorce, weird) and here is one of them, U Want Me 2. Like the song, not too sure about the video...

And oh my god. I just read that Kevin Costner is going to put out a country album. My world is complete.

Well, that was literal.

(...I thought using "U" and "2" in song titles was 1980something, exhausted by Sinead O'Connor and Prince?)

Apparently she did not feel the need to be subtle...

And I HATE that "U" and "2" crap, drives me crazy. AND there's no need for it here, wtf??

;) I didn't mean unsubtle so much as... literal. I haven't had my coffee this a.m. so I'm a bit groggy, but... it might as well be a spoken-word song about divorce sucking. Likely because I know the backstory, and it's coloring my listen. I see your point, though; maybe she'll readdress the theme later with more elegance/distance when the emotion's a little less raw.

Eh, maybe I just need to listen to this a bit more.

I hate the U and the 2. I like the song, though :)

Kevin Costner is...wha? Okaaay. Well. Isn't that special.

Alex: Hmm, I didn't think it was too literal. Dunno.

Vel: Me 2.

Kevin Costner is special.
